Quality Statement as at 28 March 2011

Our hair alcohol tests are carried out in Germany where the testing technology originated.  The laboratories which carry out the tests for Trimega are accredited with ISO 17025 (the same ISO standard as that applied by UKAS) by DAkkS which is the German equivalent of UKAS.

The UK Ministry of Justice does not require hair testing laboratories to be accredited. However, our UK laboratory in Manchester, which carries out drug tests, operates to ISO 17025 standards, and is being audited by UKAS to receive accreditation. We expect the laboratory will receive UKAS final accreditation under the 17025 standard very soon.

Our UK laboratory already has IS0 9001:2008 certification from Lloyd's Register Group, itself accredited by UKAS, for the 'provision of clinical collecting, testing, analysis and interpretation services for substances of abuse'.
In addition, we have ISO 14001, the environmental management system standard for internal quality management. Trimega's Manchester laboratory is the only UK laboratory in the industry to have this certification. Trimega is also an Investor in People.

Trimega Laboratories' Manchester testing facility is now certified to the environmental management system standard ISO 14001 demonstrating its environmental credentials. Achieved by less than 1% of UK businesses, this prestigious award is supported by the Government and recognised worldwide. Having high regard for how businesses would impact the environment, the standard evaluates working practices, procedures and processes relating to environmental management.

Audit Scope: 'Provision of clinical testing services for substances of abuse'

Trimega Laboratories is ISO 9001 Quality Assured. ISO 9000 is the internationally recognised standard for an organisation's internal Management Systems. The certification relates to those features of a product or service which are required by our clients. Our ISO audits are provided by LRQA who hold 19 global accreditations to provide ISO 9001. In the UK they have an open scope of approval from the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).

An organisation's 'Management Systems' refers to an organisation's actions to ensure that its products or services satisfy its customers' quality requirements and complies with any regulations applicable to those products or services.

Solicitors Regulation Authority

Trimega Laboratories is authorised by the Solicitors Regulation Authority to provide CPD courses for solicitors.

As an authorised external CPD provider Trimega offer courses that:

  • Are relevant to the work of solicitors;
  • Meet the standards outlined in the criteria for authorisation as an external CPD course provider.

The courses that we provide are:

  • Open to the general public, but with relevance and benefit to solicitors;
  • Designed specifically for solicitors / staff of solicitors' firms.
