Scottish drug survey blasted

The latest Crime and Justice Survey which shows a decline in the number of drug users in Scotland with a decrease in cannabis use since 2006 and neither an increase or decrease in cocaine use, was praised by the Community Safety Minister Fergus Ewing: “it is encouraging to see that more and more Scots are turning away from the destructive world of drugs of misuse”.

Praise no longer as the survey has since been blasted by critics saying that the survey results were not representative of the true population (where 10,974 people took part) as the face to face survey did not include prisoners, the homeless or those living in hostels – being environments within which drug taking is frequent.
